title: Request an app
description: Ask for an app that is missing. Paste a store link or type a name and watch the job run.
---

If search finds nothing, open the Request page or follow the "Request one" link on an empty result. You need to be signed in.

## What to paste

- A store URL from the App Store, Google Play or the Microsoft Store.
- A store ID.
- Or just the app name.

Your input is never fetched as typed. A URL is parsed down to a store ID, a name is used as a search term, and requests go only to the three store hosts. Anything else is rejected.

## What happens next

1. A job is queued. The page shows live status: queued, running, done or failed.
2. The job looks the app up in each store, downloads the screenshots, and stores them.
3. When it is done, the app appears in the library with each screen assigned to a device.

Stores are queried slowly on purpose, so a job can take a few minutes. A failed job shows a short reason, for example that the app was not found on any store or was taken down.

## Limits

Requests are rate-limited per user. From an agent, use the [`request_app`](/mcp/tool-reference#request_app) tool, which needs a key with the `write` scope.
